NY Immigration/NYC Municipal Archives Research
I will work on your behalf, performing onsite research of Birth, Death and Marriage records in the NYC Municipal Archives.
I have worked extensively at the NYC Municipal Archives and have memberships in historical and genealogical organizations which allow me access to other documents specific to New York City immigration. These records are not on the internet. The benefit of having your own on-site researcher will net far more information in much less time than you would be able to do by mailing individual requests and waiting for responses. It’s more economical too!
My family history has its’ roots in Bavaria, Wurttemberg, Saxony, France and Sweden. My ancestors came to the US between 1836 and the 1880’s. They lived in the tenements in the lower east side of Manhattan and other boros of New York City and worked as tailors, dressmakers, bakers, cabinetmakers and day laborers. Over time, they moved out of the city and took up farming and worked in machine shops. It was through researching my own family that I gained the expertise to secure census, vital, naturalization and church records which reveal a family history.
